Our tours are available for individuals, families, school groups, and corporate teams.
At Kaynela Farms, we believe in nurturing a love for nature, animals, and sustainable farming from an early age. Our Guided Children and School Tours are designed to provide young minds with an engaging, educational, and hands-on experience, helping them understand the importance of agriculture, environmental conservation, and the role of sustainable practices in farming. These tours are ideal for schools, daycare centers, and children’s groups looking for an exciting outdoor adventure with an educational twist.
Our farm tours for children are carefully curated to blend learning with fun, ensuring that the young visitors not only have a great time but also leave with valuable knowledge about farming, food production, and nature. Each tour is guided by a friendly, knowledgeable staff member who knows how to communicate with children in a way that captures their attention and sparks their curiosity.
Here’s what children can expect during their visit:
Upon arrival, the children are welcomed to Kaynela Farms with a brief introduction about what they’ll be exploring. They’ll learn about the history of the farm, what we grow and raise, and why sustainability is important. This introductory session is interactive, allowing children to ask questions and share what they already know about farms.
Children will get to walk through our crop fields, where they can see a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs growing. Our guides explain the life cycle of plants, from seeds to harvest, and teach them about the natural farming methods we use, such as crop rotation and companion planting. Depending on the season, children may get the chance to pick some fruits or vegetables, experiencing firsthand what it’s like to harvest fresh produce.
One of the most exciting parts of the tour for children is the chance to interact with our farm animals. From horses and camels to our birds in the aviary, children will learn about the different types of animals we raise, how we care for them, and their roles on the farm. Our guides will share fun facts about each animal, such as what they eat, how they contribute to the farm’s ecosystem, and even some of their quirky behaviors.
